Board Vacancy
Dr. Sumanta Chaudhuri Saini, a Trustee with the Hemet Unified School District Governing Board, representing Area 6, has tendered her resignation. The resignation became effective on April 17, 2024, upon receipt by the Superintendent of the Riverside County Office of Education.
The Governing Board began the process of filling the vacancy in Trustee Area 6 at a Special Board Meeting on April 19, 2024.

What are the qualifications for serving on the Board? A person must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of Hemet Unified School District, Trustee Area 6, at least 18 years old, and a registered voter.
What is the term of the provisional appointment? The term of the provisional appointment will expire in November, 2024.
What do I need to apply for the position? The Governing Board accepts applications from qualified candidates. Please note that resumes may not be submitted in place of an application. Each applicant must submit an official application (linked below). All applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024. Applicants must be available for interviews with the Board at an open meeting on Friday, May 3, 2024.
If I am selected by the Board, when do I take office? The Board anticipates making an appointment at a board meeting on May 3, 2024. The appointment will become effective Tuesday, May 7, 2024, wherein the new member will attend his or her first full Board meeting after being sworn in on May 7, 2024.

As public officials, Board members do have to comply with certain restrictions not encountered in their private lives. Upon assuming office, a Board member must file a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) which is a public document that discloses the Board member’s financial holdings and other economic interests within the boundaries of the District (excluding a personal residence). Board members must refrain from Board activities which constitute a conflict of interest or which are incompatible with their role as Board member.
